We are thrilled to announce that our very own player, Kaleb Abara, has been awarded the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year. This accolade is one of the most esteemed honors in high school sports across the nation. The Gatorade Player of the Year program celebrates not only athletic excellence but also academic commitment and community impact.
Over nearly four decades, Gatorade has recognized exceptional high school athletes who have excelled both on and off the field, with a list of alumni that includes sports legends like Peyton Manning, Abby Wambach, Elena Delle Donne, Paige Bueckers, Nick Singleton, and Gradey Dick. These individuals have gone on to achieve greatness in various fields, from business and coaching to becoming star athletes and community leaders.
Being named a Gatorade Player of the Year is not just an individual accolade but an opportunity to give back. Through Gatorade’s Play It Forward program, all 608 Gatorade Player of the Year award winners, including Kaleb Abara, have the privilege of selecting a local or national youth sports organization to receive a $1,000 grant from Gatorade.
We are profoundly grateful to be the recipients of a grant from Gatorade’s Play It Forward program, which was generously awarded to us by Kaleb Abara, Gatorade Hawaii Boys Soccer Player of the Year. At the Honolulu Bulls, we are deeply committed to fostering the growth and development of youth in Hawaii through sports. Research has shown that youth participation in sports contributes significantly to improved physical and mental health, enhanced academic performance, and greater future career success. We are dedicated to helping the youth in our community reap these invaluable benefits.
Congratulations once again to Kaleb Abara for this remarkable achievement, and thank you for your continued dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young athletes in Hawaii. Your recognition as a Gatorade Player of the Year is a testament to your outstanding efforts both on and off the soccer field.
